MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota has always maintained a legendary independent streak, famously electing third-party leadership and fostering vibrant civic participation. As the Independent National Convention (INC ’26) opens at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C. from September 23 to 25, Twin Cities delegates are bringing that enduring independent spirit back to the national capital.
From Minneapolis municipal innovations to statewide grassroots organizing, Minnesota voters have consistently proven that the two party monopoly is vulnerable when independent candidates build serious infrastructure.
Revitalizing the Independent Political Tradition
The convention gathers independent candidates, 3 party leaders, and voting-reform specialists to address modern challenges: corporate fundraising dominance, media censorship of alternative voices, and unequal debate rules. Workshops focus on scalable independent campaigns capable of securing historic victories.
